Poisson Process?

We have stayed put for about three years without much human interaction and all of a sudden everybody started talking to us simultaneously. We are not going to believe that getting talked to is a Poisson process. We couldn't help but thinking that we got DDOSed by humans. Where was everybody when we were fretting about our loneliness? Amazingly we finished preparing our lecture notes during all the turmoil, but we did lag behind on reading papers/books. Please don't be surprised that we are as ignorant on that domain as we were a month ago. In addition, we fear that in a few day AMS is going to send us a review-overdue-notice. Yikes!
